Archives research appointments

Laurier Archives is now booking appointments for consultation of our research collections. This service is currently only available for Laurier faculty, students, and staff.

How to book an appointment?

Book your appointment online through the University’s Eventbrite system.

Archives appointment booking times are available in 3-hour morning or 2-hour afternoon time blocks (1 user per block) as follows:

Mondays to Friday

  • 10:00 am to 1:00 pm
  • 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm

You will need to check in at the User Services desk to the immediate left of the Library’s security gates (follow floor signage). You will be required to show your OneCard as well as proof of your Eventbrite registration for that day’s appointment you will have received in your email (either on your phone or print out).

What to expect:

After receiving your appointment confirmation please send an email to outlining your research interest and indicating the archival material you wish to access. Staff will ensure that relevant materials are available to you during your appointment.

After arriving at the Archives reading room, you can place request for items for retrieval.

Staff will provide you with disposal, archives safe gloves to handle materials

All users must follow the University’s health and safety guidelines for study spaces (listed under the YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES section):

All students must follow the University’s SafeHawk Self-Assessment app showing a green ‘pass’ badge or confirm that they have passed Ontario COVID 19 self-assessment symptom free. Laurier employees will need to show their Qualtrics COVID-19 Self-Assessment badge (Green checkmark) or confirm that they have passed Ontario COVID 19 self-assessment symptom free.

How to get here:

Enter the Waterloo campus Library by the main entrance. After registering with the User Service desk, Archives staff will come to escort you to the reading room.
