Graduate Carrels

A carrel is a desk, often found in universities libraries, with partitions at back and sides to provide privacy for studying.

Graduate carrels, with lockable drawers, are available for researchers at Wilfrid Laurier University, with priority given to those in a graduate program. These carrels are located along the outside perimeter of floors 4 through 7 in the Library.

Carrels are assigned on a first come-first served basis by the Library and can be signed out for the term. Staff at the User Services Desk on the main floor of the Library will assign the key.

Since quiet work space at the University is limited, researchers are asked to relinquish carrels they no longer need. If Library staff determine that the space is not being used, it will be reassigned.
